First United Methodist Church Open House

9:00 am – 2:00 pm 

45 N. Washington Street 

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  

Take a tour of our church which was established at this location in 1884. Discover our history and see our displays from our archives from year’s past. Grab a bottle of cold water before you make your way to your next stop. On Tuesday, enjoy coffee with our new pastor Ken Aker from 10 to 11 am.

Artist Studio Open House

Original oil paintings by local and international artists will be available for viewing. A signed print of “Jerome King Playground” will be given away each day to a lucky winner. Artwork by Eliane Ambrose, Fred Tresselt, Deb Kallgren, and Gabriela Kallgren will be on exhibit.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Greencastle - Antrim High School Gymnasium

Sponsored by McDonald’s/Delamor Enterprises

Anyone who loves the game of basketball can participate in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Boys, girls, men and women are invited to participate. Divisions are set up for students entering 7th/8th grade, entering 9th/10th grade, entering 11th/12th grade and post grad/open division (Divisions are subject to change based on number of teams).

Allison-Antrim Museum Open House

1860 House (air conditioned) and the 1860s German Bank Barn (air conditioned with ADA accessible bathrooms.) Self-guided tours. Special Exhibits: In the Barn’s North Exhibit Bay: Greencastle-Antrim Civil War Collection. South Exhibit Bay: The late Katty Grosh’s collection of Old Home Week ribbons and programs will be displayed. Select artifacts from the Ebbert Spring archeological collection. And…a rare 1850’s Plains rifle & Native American painted Buffalo Robe from Joseph Craig’s Collection. In the Irwin Museum House – Phillip Baer’s grand piano and tuxedo.

Fun Fair at the Playground

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Jerome King Playground (N. Carlisle St.)- bandshell side.

Sponsored by Strait Steel 

Fun for kids up to 12 years old. The fun fair will feature pony rides, petting zoo, balloon twisters, face painting, character meet and greets, games, a candy scramble, among other activities. There will be snacks provided.

The Greencastle Antrim Education Foundation is proud to host the G-A Alumni Banquet. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at OHW headquarters or from GAEF Board members. First Assembly of God Greencastle

Our church will host free parking for the US Navy Band Concert and the Old Home Week Fireworks. We are a short walk to the High School for the concert and a fabulous fireworks viewing location! Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets! Enjoy free snacks, kids activities and family fun! In case of rain - open house activities will be held in the Ministry Center.

Old Home Week Fireworks 

9:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Rain date August 13 

Display is launched behind elementary & primary schools. 

Greencastle Antrim School District Kaley Field & Athletic Fields. 

Driving Directions: The Greencastle Police Department will implement Driving restrictions pertaining to vehicles departing after the fireworks display on Friday evening (or in case of rain on Saturday evening.).  

MANDATORY exit routes will be implemented depending on where you park to watch the fireworks display.  

1) Vehicles parked in vicinity of Greencastle Elementary School will be allowed to exit EAST ON LEITERSBURG STREET ONLY.  

2) Vehicles parked in vicinity of Greencastle Middle school will be allowed to exit WEST ON LEITERSBURG STREET AND SOUTH ON WASHINGTON OR SOUTH ON CARLISLE STREETS ONLY  

3) Vehicles parked in vicinity of Greencastle High School will be allowed to exit NORTH ON RIDGE AVENUE OR WEST ON ADDISON AVENUE…THEN NORTH ON ALLISON OR NORTH ON WASHINGTON STREETS ONLY.
