The Blue Mountain Group and Greencastle Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine (Franklin Co. based companies) have partnered with Haines Construction to restore and repurpose the church on 145 E. Baltimore St. The Blue Mountain Group is focused on the exterior of the building which features an addition with an ADA compliant Elevator. Greencastle Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine is overseeing the second floor restoration and repurposing. Even though the project is still a work in progress, an open house of the second floor will be offered.

Enjoy iced tea and lemonade as you browse through our art gallery, Studio U on the Square. The talents of local painters, photographers, pen & ink, and fiber artists will be showcased. Featured will be a painting done by local artist, John Gamble depicting a photo of Peggy Ann Bradnick. Bradnick was kidnapped near Shade Gap, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1966.

Ed Baumgardner will be at the Library to donate a picture album and story of the building of the Richmond Hill Ski Area . The album is a tribute to his parents, Ray and Evelyn Baumgardner. He will have a limited number of books for sale .

Special Exhibits: “Guns & Roses” – A collection of rare guns made by mid-1800s, Greencastle gunsmith Joshua Yous & wedding gowns (1786 is the earliest) from the museum’s collection and from friends of the museum. In addition, the late Katty Grosh’s collection of Old Home Week ribbons and programs will be displayed. See Phillip Baer’s grand piano and tuxedo.

5th Annual “Float the Jig” for Brandi Kaye
Location: Conococheague Creek
Launch from near Route 16 bridge around 1:30 pm, finish at Martin’s Mill Bridge park area around 4:30 pm.
This is a memorial float for Brandi Kaye (Rockwell) Peli, who passed away August of 2011. She was a graduate of the G-AHS Class of 2006 and was working as a nurse in Texas at the time of her passing. Brandi was a friend to all wildlife and nature, and she enjoyed this unique Greencastle-Antrim summer activity many times. So come join for fun and memories! Bring some snacks, drinks, raft, canoe, kayak, inner tube, or whatever “floats your boat!”
Please make arrangements to park vehicles only at the Martin’s Mill Bridge park area. Arrange to drop off items to be used for the float at the beginning. All vehicles should be taken to the park and those floating should be taken back to the start point and dropped off. Other information: Float at your own pace. Participants assume all responsibility. Participants supply all necessary items.
